ASME 'U2' Stamp Authorisation – Unit I
Permits us to fabricate pressure vessels under the stricter rules of ASME Section VIII Division 2. This certificate covers the SIDCO Industrial Estate plant (Unit I) in Coimbatore.
What this certificate tells you
Compared with Division 1, Division 2 relies on design-by-analysis and imposes tighter rules on materials, fabrication and examination. The result can be thinner, lighter shells for high-pressure duty, cutting both weight and cost on large equipment. Only a limited number of fabricators hold the U2 stamp, and purchasers frequently specify it for high-pressure hydrocarbon and gas applications.
